So Spring Break's over and I've been cruelly forced to return to work. Fortunately, there's a few things keeping me going...
1) The weather...The weather down here has been absolutely gorgeous...a cool78 degrees, a constant coastal breeze, and warm sunlight hitting your skin. I almost feel sinful staying indoors. ( I tried using this excuse to get out of work, but it was a no go).
2) The book I'm reading..."Marley & Me: Life & Love with the World's Worst Dog" by John Grogan. This book, currently on the New York Time's Best Seller List, is both hysterical and heart wrenching. I can't remember the last time I laughed aloud while reading a book. The book is set (at least initially) in Palm Beach County Florida (actually just a few blocks south of where we live) and follows the lives of a young couple, just starting out, who decide to buy a Labrador puppy. It's somewhat of an autobiography. It doesn't take long to realize that the book is about so much more than the rambunctious Labrador retriever. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good book to curl up with.
3) My own "exuberant" Labrador puppy...Maggie. Using the words of John Grogan, she consistently "reminds me of the simple joys in life." She challenges me to see the excitement in taking a walk, taking a car ride, swimming, eating a meal, and taking a nap.
Josh and I just returned from skiing on Monday. We've written about our trip on our travel blog ( see Ski Utah! on our sidebar) and will upload pictures to it soon.
I hope everyone else is having a wonderful week filled with amazing weather, intriguing literature, and exuberant puppies!
