I am currently a bachelor while my two special ladies are away visiting Sarah's family so this afternoon I went to the beach with two new friends, a Jordanian and Syrian. They are great guys and I enjoyed talking to them and hearing about life from their vantage points. The weather was perfect. I took my Syrian friend out on the sunfish and it was his first time in a sail boat like that. After just a few short paths in the water together he was off on his own. He was a natural!
After sailing we lounged in the warm waters of the Arabian Gulf. I practiced my Arabic and when a plane flew overhead across the sunset someone started up with "Leaving on a Jet Plane" by John Denver. Soon we were all singing together "I'm leaving, on a jet plane, I don't know when I'll be back again . . .." Some things are universal. I guess John Denver is one of those things.
